Who We Are
The Defenders of Legal Craft
The legaltech market is currently experiencing a dangerous paradox. Multi-billion dollar tools are aggressively pushing generative AI to automate the actual drafting of legal documents, while simultaneously positioning themselves to potentially become the AI-native law firms of the future. What happens when LegalTech tries to replace the lawyer? Hallucinated precedents, missed nuances, and Supreme Court reprimands.
At Stemple, we believe the practice of law is an art that shouldn't be outsourced to a chatbot. We are fundamentally against using AI to draft petitions and contracts from scratch. Stemple preserves the conventional creativity, strategic thinking, and personal accountability of the lawyer.
Years in Perspective
Building With Purpose — The First Execution (2023–2024)
What started as a simple observation by Samarth Shukla became the foundation of everything.
Samarth realized that law and technology in India existed in silos — and that gap needed to be solved.
When Devansh Srivastava joined the journey, the idea evolved into a serious mission.
Building With Purpose — The First Execution (2023–2024)
Before products, there was purpose.
The team launched a pro bono legal blogging initiative to make legal knowledge more accessible.
Soon after, Aditya Daryani joined the founding journey — shaping the brand, communication, and public identity of the vision.
This phase transformed an idea into an actual movement.
The Pivot That Changed Everything (2024)
The team built their first legal-tech product: Legal Sparrow, focused on connecting clients with lawyers.
It worked — but the founders realized they were solving a surface-level problem, not rebuilding the system itself.
Instead of continuing for the sake of momentum, they made the difficult decision to stop, rethink, and rebuild from scratch.
That decision led to the birth of The Kacheri Diaries.
Soon after, Mehul Mendhiratta joined, bringing operational structure and scale to the mission.
From Platform to Impact (2025)
The mission became clear: “Kanoon Samjhega India.”
Kacheri Diaries expanded beyond content and community into real-world legal impact:
Collaborations with international legal professionals
Webinars and legal awareness discussions
Rural legal aid campaigns across Maharashtra reaching 250+ families
Building a national legal-tech and legal-professional ecosystem
This was the year the vision moved from screens to society.
The Evolution Into Stemple (2026)
Years of learning led to one realization:
the legal system didn’t just need optimization — it needed reinvention.
With sharper clarity and stronger direction, Samarth Shukla, Devansh Srivastava, Aditya Daryani, and Mehul Mendhiratta began the next chapter: Stemple.
Not as another startup.
But as a long-term attempt to rebuild how legal systems operate in the modern world.
